Structural basis and functional evolution of RNA maturation machinary

本研究的目的是了解RNA成熟系统的物理和化学性质。这项研究进行了三年。我们主要研究了真核生物、古细菌和真细菌这三种相对简单的生物。我们通过x射线晶体结构研究和生化方法对几种tRNA修饰酶和tRNA剪接内链酶进行了表征。此外，我们利用基因干扰菌株研究了tRNA修饰核苷和tRNA修饰酶之间的网络。此外，我们在嗜热嗜酸古菌——嗜酸热原菌中发现了明显的tRNA修饰。

The purpose of this study is physical and chemical understanding of RNA maturation system. The study were performed for three years. We mainly researched the relatively simple organism of three domains of life (eukaryotes, archaea and eubacteria). We chracterized several tRNA modification enzymes and tRNA splicing endonulceases by X-ray crystal structural study and biochemical methods. Furthermore, we investigated the network between modified nucleosides in tRNA and tRNA modification enzymes using gene disruptant strains. Moreover, we found distinct tRNA modifications in a thermo-acidophilic archaeon, Thermoplasma acidophilum.
