It is assumed that the concept of "Italian Art" has been formed in accordance with the establishment of the first unified country the Kingdom of Italy of the Italian peninsula in the nineteenth century. The study of the handling of the art of the past as a heritage through the relationship with the trends in the contemporary paintings, the following were revealed. First, through the "Italian Art" history compilation project dated from eighteenth century, the uniqueness of that art was developed in the peninsula and that influence in the world has been recognized again. Second, the art protection was appealed and the public and private museum system was developed. Third, the effect in the international scene of the brand of "Italian Art" is recognized, if say, the re-acceptance of in overseas "Italian Art" image, was developed to measure the Kingdom of Italy that ara diplomacy.

人们认为，“意大利艺术”的概念是随着19世纪意大利半岛上第一个统一国家——意大利王国的建立而形成的。通过对过去作为遗产的艺术处理的研究，与当代绘画的发展趋势的关系，揭示了以下几点。首先，通过18世纪以来的“意大利艺术”历史编纂项目，该艺术的独特性在半岛得到了发展，其在世界上的影响再次得到认可。第二，呼吁艺术保护，发展公私博物馆体系。第三，在国际舞台上对“意大利艺术”品牌的认可效果，如果说，在海外对“意大利艺术”形象的重新接受程度，是衡量意大利王国对外外交的发展程度。
