Detailed studies on extrasolar-planets orbiting intermediate-mass stars based on radial velocimetry and photometry

We conducted a planet-search program with a precise Doppler technique targeting intermediate-mass giants and dwarfs in order to uncover poplulations of less-massive and short-period planets around such stars. We succeeded in discovering new planets less massive than two Jupiter-mass around interemdiate-mass giants, which have rarely been found around them. Also, we identified a planet candidate around an early-type star in an open cluster. The discoveries offer new insight into origins of mass and orbital-period distribution of planets around intermediate-mass stars.
