Investigation of the protein-protein interactions in a bacterial polyhedral organelle and their application

相当数量的细菌具有蛋白质多面体细胞器，在其中进行代谢反应以使挥发性代谢中间产物的损失最小化。本研究建立了多面体细胞器基因的表达系统，并对其功能进行了分析。我们还发现了一些细胞器酶之间的新的相互作用，包括二醇脱氢酶，它是细胞器代谢途径中的关键酶。这些结果表明细胞器酶的自组装在多面体细胞器形成过程中的重要性。

Considerable number of bacteria have proteinaceous polyhedral organelle in which metabolic reactions are carried to minimize the loss of volatile metabolic intermediates. In this study, we have developed expression system for polyhedral organelle genes, and analyzed their functions. We also found new interactions between some organelle enzymes, including diol dehydratase which was a key enzyme in the organelle metabolic pathway. These results suggest the importance of auto-assembly of the organelle enzymes in the formation process of polyhedral organelle.
