An Evaluation of the Fair Trade in Kilimanjaro Coffee by the Institutional Theory of Farm Household Management

An analytical framework of an institutional theory of farm household management (a model of impurity farm management, a conceptual diagram of poverty/development and conceptual diagram of capability approach etc.) has been developed with a combination of analytical concepts introduced by Masao Otsuki, Geoffrey M. Hodgson, Amartya Sen.This framework could help us to find out that Lukani villagers do not have to suffer from absolute poverty thanks to their traditional security system through sector of "female products " (banana, milk) and mutual help system. However, the level of managing results of sector of "male products" (coffee, maize) which plays roles for "well-being" (in particular, secondary education for every child) is low.This is why an qualitative evaluation whether or not production and sales of coffee, furthermore fair trade of coffee have abilities to ensure "capabilities" for every child to study at secondary school, is attempted in the following part of this study.
