Objective: We developed and evaluated an educational intervention program to promote self-management (SM) to prevent gynecologic cancer patients from developing lymphedemas following cancer treatment. Method: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with an envelope method identifying subjects consenting to participate in the study. Six months after the intervention, we investigated (1) conditions of edemas, (2) health problem coping, (3) self-efficacy, and (4) SM activities. Results: Of 109 subjects, we collected 38 responses for the intervention group (IG) (68 %) and 33 for the control group (CG) (62 %). For (1), there were more patients diagnosed to suffer from lymphedemas in the CG than in the IG. For (2), there were fewer patients who coped with health problems in the CG than in the IG. For (3), there was no significant difference between the two. For (4), the CG was lower than the IG. Discussion: Findings showed a significant efficacy of SM in the prevention of lymphedema.

目的：我们开发并评估了一个教育干预计划，以促进自我管理（SM），以防止妇科癌症患者在癌症治疗后出现水肿。方法：采用信封法进行随机对照试验，确定同意参加研究的受试者。干预6个月后，我们调查了（1）水肿情况，（2）健康问题应对，（3）自我效能，（4）SM活动。结果：在109名受试者中，我们收集了干预组（IG）的38份答复（68%）和对照组（CG）的33份答复（62%）。对于（1），CG中诊断患有水肿的患者多于IG。对于（2），CG中应对健康问题的患者少于IG。对于（3），两者之间无显著差异。对于（4），CG低于IG。讨论：研究结果显示SM在预防水肿方面具有显著疗效。
