The training system of reading musical notes was developed by using a personal computer with a touch-panel display. Once a user touched a musical note on the display, a correct tune sounded and the name of the note was announced by synthesized voice at the same time. When this system was actually used for patients of dementia at a session of music therapy, fundamental problems became clear. Although operation of a system is easy for the patients, memorizing the operation was impossible because of dementia. They must learn the operation from the beginning at each time. We succeeded in development of the system but the range of clinical application was restricted.

使用带有触摸屏的个人电脑开发了读音训练系统。一旦用户触摸显示器上的音符，就会发出正确的曲调，同时通过合成声音宣布该音符的名称。当这个系统被实际用于痴呆症患者的音乐治疗时，基本问题变得清晰起来。虽然系统的操作对患者来说很容易，但由于痴呆症，无法记住操作过程。他们每次都必须从头开始学习操作。我们成功地开发了该系统，但临床应用的范围受到限制。
