项目摘要

本研究では、琉球語の一方言である宮古多良間方言の文法記述をおこなう。当該方言は宮古方言群と八重山方言群の「中間的な」言語特徴を持った方言であり、その体系的かつ包括的な文法記述は両方言群の研究にとって重要な成果をもたらしうる。とくに多良間方言を含む宮古方言群は特異な音声学的・音韻論的特徴(「中舌母音」と呼ばれる舌端が調音に関与する母音、音節の核として機能する成節的な子音、近年新たに発見されたアクセント型の3つの区別など)を有しており、その詳細な音声学的・音韻論的研究は、琉球語学だけでなく、一般音声学・理論音韻論・歴史言語学などにも貢献しうる。本年度の主要な成果は3点ある。まず多良間方言と北琉球奄美湯湾方言のあいだで中舌狭母音の調音詳細を比較し、両者の調音的特徴を記述した論文を公表した(The central high vowels in Ryukyuan languages : A comparative palatographic study of Yuwan Amami and Tarama Miyako)。両者の調音詳細を客観的な手法で比較し、その差異を記述した研究はこれまでになく、本研究は宮古・奄美両方言の記述研究に新しい知見をもたらした。また言語の記述に関する新しい方法論を探究する研究会(東京外国語大学アジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所共同研究プロジェクト「複雑系としての言語 : 運用に基づく文法理論の可能性」)において2件の口頭発表をおこなった。実際の言語使用を基盤とした(usage-based)研究の実例を紹介し、言語をより実態に即した形で捉えるためにはどうすればよいかを議論した。以上の研究業績に加えて、本年度は現地調査を2013年11月20日～27日におこなった。三型アクセントの記述を目的とした調査をおこない、これまでに得られていた定性的データに加えて新たに定量的データを追加した。

This paper studies the grammatical description of a dialect of Ryukyu and Ryukyu languages. When the dialect is divided into Palaeo dialect group and Yaeshan dialect group, the speech characteristics of "middle" dialect group, including grammatical description of dialect system, are maintained, important achievements are made in the study of dialect group. The characteristics of acoustic and phonological theory of ancient dialect group ("Middle Tongue Vowel" and "Voice" are the vowels and syllables of the tongue end, which are related to tone and function, and the differences between the three types of syllables are newly discovered in recent years). The main achievements of this year are 3 points. The central high vowels in Ryukyuan languages : A comparative palatographic study of Yuwan Amami and Tarama Miyako The author of this paper makes a comparative study of the different methods used in the study of Chinese dialects. Research Institute for New Methodological Research on Speech Description (Joint Research Institute of Speech Culture, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies,"Complex Systems and Speech: Possibility of Applying Basic Grammar Theory") Examples of practical use of speech are introduced and discussed. The above research results were added, and the field survey was conducted from November 20 to 27, 2013. The purpose of the investigation is to increase the quality of the product.
