本年度の成果としてまず挙げられるのは, 昨年度から引き続き行っているモンゴル語の母音調和の音声的側面からの追究である。具体的には, 実験によってより詳細に母音調和とそれに関わる音韻的現象がどのように音声的に現れているかを調べるということである。本年度内においてはこれについて本実験を行うまでには至っていないが, 先行研究でも明らかにされている部分は決して多くはなく, 未だ研究の余地の大きい領域であると言える。これに加え, 本年度はモンゴル語諸方言間の比較を中心とする言語類型論的側面からの追究も試みた。具体的には, 各方言においてどの母音・素性が調和の対象となるか, あるいは調和を阻害する要因となるかを比較することである。しかしながらモンゴル語の諸方言は未だ十分な調査をなされていない方言も多く, 公表に値する成果とするには継続した調査・研究が必要と考えられる。また, 本年度は本研究課題の最終年度であるため, この3年間の研究のまとめを試みた。具体的には, 研究開始当初から明らかであった課題と研究を進めていくうちに発見された課題を挙げ, 現時点でその課題に対してどのような解決が見つかっているか, あるいは見つかっていないかということをまとめることである。本年度中には2013年12月に東京音韻論研究会においてモンゴル語の母音の基底表示についての発表をしたのみにとどまっているが, それ以外の部分についても今後論文等の形式で公表することを目指している。
