本年度は引き続きデータ整備を行い、その後実証分析を行なった。まずデータの整備としては、前年度の作業で商品コード単位までに整理したデータを推定に使うことができる形式にまでさらに直すことと、説明変数として用いる製品特性などの追加的なデータを別途入手することの二つを主に行った。製品特性については公表していない企業もあり当初考えていたより苦戦したが、メーカーにメールで直接問い合わせたり、他研究などを参考にしたりすることで、最終的には全て入手することができた。具体的に実証分析で行ったのは、購入することで企業の寄付を誘発できるキャンペーン(CRM)が需要に与える影響を、実際の市場での取引を記録したPOSデータと実際に行われたCRMキャンペーンの情報を元に需要の構造推定を用いて確認することであり、その結果CI田は売上にマイナスの影響を与えていたことが分かった。これは意外な結果のように思えるが、実際にはCRMは賛同だけではなく批判にもさらされているので、この結果はそうしたネガティブなフィードバッグの方が強いということを示唆していると考えられる。先行研究はプラスの影響があるとしている場合が多いが、本研究の主目的はそうした先行研究で行われてきた仮想的な状況での効果の測定ではなく、実際の市場で企業の社会貢献活動が企業の経済的成果にどう影響するかを明らかにすることなので、その意味で非常に興味深い結果が出たと言えるであろう。これらの結果については基本的なロバストネスチェックはパスしており、またCRM以外の説明変数の係数については尤もらしい結果が出ているが、先行研究と違う結果が出たという事実を真摯に受け止め、今後も分析のより一層の精緻化に取り組んでいきたいと考えている。一方で、論文の執筆自体はひとまず終わっているので、同時並行的に発表や学術誌への投稿を行っていくつもりである。
