Distribution of forest communities and their habitat conditions in a foggy mountainous watershed

我调查了一个多雾山区流域森林群落分布与土壤环境的关系。值得注意的发现如下。(1)雾在分水岭底部凝结形成，经海风输送至脊线；(2)在山脊线分布的柳杉天然林中，频繁的雾事件是抑制林底蒸发的限制因素之一。(3)林底脊线海盐负荷的波动幅度小于低海拔海盐负荷。

I have investigated to understand the relationship between distribution of forest communities and soil environment in a foggy mountainous watershed. The remarkablefindings are as follows. (1) Fog was formed by condensing at the base of watershed and then transported to the ridge line by sea breeze. (2) In the natural Cryptomeria japonica forests distributed on ridge line, frequent fog event was one of the limiting factors in inhibiting the evaporation from the forest floor. (3) Fluctuating range of seasalt loadings in the forest floor on ridge line was smaller than those at lower altitude.
