In recent years, the mechanism of type 2 innate immune responsethat may be involved in the pathophysiology of allergic diseases such as asthma has been elucidated rapidly. In the present study, I examined the mechanisms of innate type-2immune reaction to fungal antigen in the airways. The response was dependent on protease activity of fungi, but not dependent on IL-33 or natural helper cells.
