项目摘要

平成26年度の研究では、前年度に引き続き夏季休暇を利用してアゼルバイジャン共和国において新石器時代の遺跡であるハッジ・エラムハンルテペの発掘調査に携わり、出土した骨角器および動物遺存体の整理を行った。しかし今年度は発掘の期間が長く、また例年冬季に行っていた資料の整理が渡航手続きの問題で行うことができなかったために、アゼルバイジャンの新石器時代遺跡から出土した資料の分析は停滞してしまうことになった。その代わりとして、2015年3月10日～18日にかけて、隣国グルジアにおいて、新石器時代に先行する中石器時代の遺跡出土の骨角器の資料調査を行った。対象としたのはトビリシ考古学センター所蔵のダルクヴェティ岩陰出土資料と、グルジア国立博物館所蔵のコティアス・クルデ出土資料である。上記二遺跡の中石器時代層から出土した骨角器は合計11点と数は少ないものの明確に中石器時代に属すると判断されたため、すべて肉眼と低倍率拡大鏡にて観察を行い、実測図および写真撮影によって記録を行った。今年度行われた中石器時代資料の調査の意義は、後続する新石器時代初頭の骨角器インダストリーの特徴が明確となったことである。両時代のインダストリーは製作技術の点では共通しており、連続性が見られる。一方で器種の点では新石器時代初頭の資料にはそれまで存在しなかったものが加わる。それらは隣接する東トルコやアルメニアでも出土する資料と類似している。これは在地の技術伝統の上に外来の要素が加わったためと解釈できる。すなわち当地における新石器化は、外部からの影響を受けて起きたことを意味している。中石器時代から連続する技術は、新石器時代開始から二百年ほどで簡略されたものへと置き換わる。これをもってすなわち在地独自の新石器文化が成立したということができよう。
