A Sociological Research on School-to-Work Transition of Dropouts in Japan

本研究旨在分析日本高中辍学生“从学校到工作的过渡”模式。本研究以日本综合社会调查（JGSS）数据为基础，对“教育水平提高”、“青年劳动力市场恶化”、“从学校向工作过渡”三个假设的有效性进行了检验。分析显示，日本过早离校的人可能会增加失业的风险，这不仅是因为经济衰退，还因为“学校中介求职”制度

The aim of this research is to analyze the pattern on “school-to-work transition” of high school dropouts in Japan. The research was based on the JGSS (Japanese General Social Surveys) data set, and tested the validity of following three hypotheses: (1) “increasing in educational level” hypothesis, (2) “worsening youth labor market” hypothesis, (3) “transition from school-to-work” hypothesis. The analysis showed that early school-leavers in Japan might increase the risk of becoming unemployed not only because of the recession, but also because of the system of “school-mediated job search”
