项目摘要

2015年度は、昨年度調査収集した史料の整理と分析を適宜進め、本研究の最終目的である学位請求論文提出に向け、研究・調査・執筆に専念した。以下、本年度の研究実績である。第一に、戦後保守政権の昭和天皇外遊構想を検討し、それらが天皇の立憲君主的な「元首」化の推進に位置づくものであることを明らかにした。第二に、1971年昭和天皇訪欧を再検討し、具体的には、①天皇訪英をめぐる日英関係、②天皇訪欧と戦争責任問題の関係について明らかにした。第三に、昨年度の成果である昭和天皇訪米問題の政治力学について再検討し、同問題をめぐって保守政権と左派勢力の憲法解釈・運用が事実上一致した過程を明らかにした。第四に、1975年昭和天皇訪米をめぐる日米の政治的目的を検討した。具体的には、①三木政権の国内的な合意形成、②天皇の戦争責任問題対策、③アメリカ政府の方針を分析し、天皇訪米が、天皇の立憲君主的な「元首」化を定着させる一方、国内的には天皇の戦争責任論を顕在化させる反動をもたらした実相を明らかにした。以上は、1960～70年代において天皇を立憲君主的な「元首」として位置づける解釈が国内外で定着した過程を歴史学的に実証したものである。これらの成果は、学位請求論文「昭和天皇「皇室外交」の政治外交史的研究 1964-1975」と題し、日本大学大学院文学研究科に提出した。審査および最終試験に合格し2016年3月に学位を授与された。なお、学位論文の成果の一部については、学会で発表し、本研究を発展させる示唆を得ることができた。史料調査については、主に①アメリカ国立公文書館と②沖縄県公文書館での調査実施が挙げられる。①では、国務省文書、在外公館文書等を調査し、1950年代後半～70年代初頭の皇室関係文書を収集した。②では、同館収集の米国文書に加え、個人文書群に所収された天皇訪米関係文書を収集した。

In the 1960s and 1970s, the position of the constitutional monarch was determined by the history of the country. "A Study of the History of Politics and Diplomacy of Emperor Showa's Imperial Diplomacy, 1964-1975," presented by Graduate School of Literature, Nihon University. The final examination was conducted in March 2016. A part of the results of the dissertation is published in the journal, and this research is published in the journal. The investigation of historical materials shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Public Library and the National Public Library.
