项目摘要

本研究は18世紀のハンガリー王国において「周囲からツィガーニと呼ばれた人々」(以下、ツィガーニ)が取り結びえた社会的諸関係の解明を企図し、とりわけ市場町ミシュコルツにおけるこの人々の状況を地域定的文脈や、より広範な社会的・政治的情勢と関連付けて検討することを課題としている。本年度は、博士論文執筆に必要な史料・文献の入手を目的とするハンガリーへの調査渡航(2016年1月27日～2月15日)を除けば、前年度までに入手した史料・文献の内容整理、その中で明らかとなった知見の公表に努めた。結果、研究報告2本と図書1点の成果を得た。研究報告では、まず日本西洋史学会大会(2015年5月17日)にて、18世紀半ばのミシュコルツにおけるツィガーニ集団の指導者、頭領の機能とその変化を、1767年の頭領の法的廃止という王国規模の政策の影響なども考慮しつつ、検討した。また、東欧史研究会・ハプスブルク研究会合同報告会(2015年10月18日)では、18世紀初頭のミシュコルツにおけるツィガーニ、とりわけ鍛冶師の経済活動を、地域の経済的状況やギルドなどその他の経済活動主体との関係の中で検討した。さらに、次年度にはジプシー/ロマ研究会(2016年4月16日)にて、ミシュコルツにおけるツィガーニによる「犯罪行為」について、18世紀ハンガリー王国で実施されたツィガーニに対する「同化」の試みと関連付けて検討する予定である。図書については、ハプスブルク家とブルボン家の宮廷を比較検討したJ. ダインダム『ウィーンとヴェルサイユ』の翻訳に参加し、18世紀当時ハプスブルク家領に属したハンガリー王国を、より広い枠組みから捉え直す重要性を再認識した。目標としていた年度中の博士論文完成には至らなかったが、以上の研究報告、調査などによって、本博士論文は完成に向けて大きく前進し、2016年度中に提出できる見込みである。それと合わせて、以上の研究報告を今後、論文の形で公表することを目指したい。
