项目摘要

本研究は、厳律シトー修道会で伝承されている修道院手話「手まね」を対象とした社会言語学的研究である。研究目的は次の２点である。1.修道院での実地調査に基づき、修道士の序列の違いといった修道院内の内的な社会構造を踏まえながら、「手まね」という手話表現について考察すること。2.手話言語学の観点から、「手まね」とろう者使用する自然言語である「手話言語」を比較検討し、「手まね」表現の特殊性および個別的特徴を明らかにする。またその際、「手まね」の語彙をデータベース化し、消えゆく言語である「手まね」を記録・保存することも視野に入れる。平成28年度に行った研究は、主に以下の4があげられる。1.第152回日本言語学会（H28年6月）では、修道院で収集したデータに基づいて修道院手話「手まね」の疑問表現について分析し、Wh 疑問詞にあたる非手指指標の存在や、Yes/No疑問文における質問マーカーの文法化などを明らかにした。2.筑波人類学研究会第19回研究会(H28年7月)では、「手まね」によるコミュニケーションについて発表し、人類学分野の研究者と意見交換を行った。 3.東アジア人類学会(H28年10月)では、人類学の研究者3人と「Culture of Periphery: Dynamics of regional arts and communication」というセッションを組み、言語とその背景にある文化・社会との関係性について社会言語学の観点から検討を行った。4.平成29年2～3月、ドイツ・オランダの修道院において予備調査のために現地調査を実施。その際、各修道院にこれまでの研究報告を行った。5.解析ソフトELANを使用しながら、「手まね」のアーカイブ化の作業を行った。

This study is aimed at the study of sociolinguistics in the context of the monastic tradition. The purpose of the study is to reverse the two points. 1.
