本研究では,十勝川水系の小流域において2016年5~11月の7ヶ月間に月1回の採水・流量調査を実施し,水位および電気伝導率の連続観測を行った。また,十勝川本川および森林,畑作,畑酪混合の各土地利用を主とした流域を対象に河川水中硝酸態窒素の窒素安定同位体比を観測した。十勝川水系の小流域において,河川水の電気伝導率は硝酸態窒素濃度と相関が得られたことから,連続観測した電気伝導率から高頻度の硝酸態窒素濃度のデータを推定することが可能である。ただし,河川出水時の流出挙動は平水時とは異なる傾向を示したことから,出水時のみの流出挙動を詳細に検証する必要がある。ただし,2016年8月および9月の台風の影響により調査地点では大規模な出水が発生し,調査地点の周辺環境が大きく変化したことから,2016年9月以降の観測データは参考値として処理した。また,河川水中硝酸態窒素の窒素安定同位体比は土地利用別の流域ごとに異なる傾向を示し。十勝川本川の窒素安定同位体比は,上流部で低く中流部で最も高くなり下流部で低下していた。十勝川本川の中流部に市街地が集中していることから,生活排水の影響を受けて中流部における窒素安定同位体比が上昇したと推測される。畑作流域および畑酪混合流域では,化学肥料が主な起源物質であることが明らかとなった。このとき,窒素安定同位体比の2回の観測では数値に大きなばらつきがみられたことから,採水時期による窒素安定同位体比の変動の有無や,採水方法などを含めて再度検討する必要がある。
