本年度のムジーブ・カーン氏による研究発表は以下の通りである。1）ケンブリッジ大学の国際学会では，イスラム医学者ラーズィー，イブン・スィーナー，ガザーリーなどの思想に則る限り，現代の人工知能は人間の知能とは同様に扱えないことになると推論。2）ロンドン大学の欧州科学史研究協会では，元代中国の『回回薬方』と日本の丹波康頼『医心方』における異文化の医学伝統の受容の在り方を分析。3）ニューヨーク・アジア研究協会の定例会では，先駆者から受容した知識の墨守が却って思想構造の変化をもたらしたことを，ラーズィーの『医学集成』と『医心方』を事例として証明した。研究成果の刊行については，以下のような成果が挙げられる。1）ラーズィーと康頼の両著とそれらに後続する書物との比較研究の章を，翻訳による知識伝達を主題としたPittsburgh大学出版会の学術書に収録。2）両著において，異文化が医学教育のなかでどう変容したか考察した章を執筆・査読中。McGill大学とQueen's大学の共同出版会より2019年刊行予定。3）イブン・スィーナーの『医学の詩』と『論理の詩』を事例として，詩文が如何に哲学の庶民化を促進したかを検討した章を執筆。中世イスラム・キリスト教・ユダヤ教における哲学の庶民化を主題とした書物に収録の上，2019年にBrepols出版会より刊行予定。4）イスラム文明と東アジアとの関係史を表わす術語がヨーロッパ中心主義に由来し，その叙述に大きな影響を与えているとする論文を提出・査読中。学術雑誌Renovatioに2019年に掲載予定。5）『医心方』を主題とした学術書の原稿をStudies of the Weatherhead East Asian Instituteシリーズの一環として提出・査読中。6）両著の比較研究を主題とした学術書の企画をOxford大学出版会に提出・結果待ち。
