採用者の研究テーマは、多文化主義政策と移民の統合に関する実証分析である。本来は日本を対象にして行う予定であったが、データの取得が当初の予定よりも困難であったため、研究対象をヨーロッパに移し、テーマの本筋となる多文化主義政策と移民の統合を検討することとした。こうした目的を達成するために、以下の研究課題に取り組み、成果を上げた。第一に、多文化主義政策が移民の居住国への愛着に与える影響について分析した。多文化主義政策が移民の愛着に与える効果は理論研究において議論が分かれており、実証研究も乏しい。本研究の分析の結果、多文化主義政策は一部の移民の居住国への愛着と正の関連をもつことが明らかとなった。成果は複数の国内・国際学会にて発表し終え、2018年に国際誌のSocial Science Researchに受理された。また反多文化主義的な立場はなぜ支持されなかったのかを分析し、結果を査読付きの国際学会（2018年8月に行われたAmerican Sociological Associationの年次大会および2019年4月に行われたEuropean Social Survey Conference）にて発表した。第二に、多文化主義政策が国民の移民に対する態度に与える影響について分析した。多文化主義政策が移民の文化を保護すると、国民の反発が予想される。他方で、多文化主義政策が規範を形成する可能性もあり、結果国民が移民に対してより寛容になる可能性もある。採用二年目には、こうした2つの異なる帰結のうちどちらが起こり得るかを分析・検討した。結果は2019年8月に行われるEuropean Sociological Association大会に投稿・受理されている。ここでのコメントをもとに、今後は国際誌に投稿する予定である。

Second, multiculturalism policy "national immigration" and "cultural analysis". Multiculturalism policies include immigration, cultural protection, and national awareness. The policies of other countries and multiculturalism stipulate the possibility of change, and the result is that the possibility of immigration is very high. In the second year of the year, we will be able to analyze the situation in the second year. Results in August 2019, contributions to the European Sociological Association conference were accepted.
