项目摘要

平成30年度の一番の成果として、博士論文執筆・提出を終え、審査ののち学位を取得したことが挙げられる。博士論文を最終的にまとめるにあたり、国内外での研究発表を複数回行った。また、博士論文執筆のフォロー調査として、海外での史料収集も実施した。平成30年度は、海外での史料収集調査を三度行った。まず、2018年6月に、英国・ロンドンの大英図書館において、一週間かけて史料を収集・閲覧した。続いて、2019年2月から3月にかけて、米国・アトランタのAmerican Baptist Historical Societyにて一週間半ほど、史料調査を行った。さらに、2019年3月には合計2週間ほど、ミャンマー（ビルマ）・ヤンゴンに滞在し、国立文書館での史料調査と、カレン神学校での聞き取りを実施した。このビルマでの調査は、2018年9月に提出した博士論文の内容および口頭試問での質疑応答を踏まえたうえで行ったもので、十分に論じきれなかった点について今後より精査していくための追加調査である。平成30年度は、5回の学会発表（国内：1、海外：4）を行った。英国・オックスフォード（6月）およびシンガポール（7月）にて開催された大学院生・若手研究者向けの博論執筆のためのワークショップに参加したことは、博士論文を執筆し推敲するうえで大いに役立つものであった。加えて、タイとオーストラリアで開催されたビルマ地域研究に特化した国際会議においても研究報告を行い、海外研究者とのネットワークをさらに広げることができた。上記の活動とあわせて博士論文の執筆をすすめ、2018年9月末に学位請求論文として上智大学に提出した。論文最終審査となる口頭試問および審査の結果合格となり、学位授与が決定した。
