本研究は、しばしば理想化して語られる近世遊廓の構造を、客になることを忌避または拒否された一部の人々(役者・被差別民等)に着目することで捉え直すものである。平成30年度は特に本研究の主要な史料となる遊女評判記の書誌的研究を重視した。併せて遊廓において登楼を忌避・拒否された「穢多」「非人」の具体例も考察し、以下の成果を得た。①先行研究の整理を元に遊女評判記の定義を明確にし、更に遊女評判記の衰退要因についてこれまで指摘されていなかった出版統制があることを論じた（「出版統制と遊女評判記―貞享・元禄以降の販売差止例と記述内容の変化をめぐって」『日本常民文化紀要』34輯）。遊女評判記は主に国文学の分野において研究が進められてきたが、その言葉が何を指すかや、何を含めるかは論者によって相違がみられた。今年度はこうした先行研究を整理し、遊女評判記の定義や、遊女評判記の内容自体の変遷およびその衰退原因を捉え直した。②遊女評判記の書き手および読み手を分析し、その作者が多くの客や遊女から特別視され、遊廓内である種の権威をもっていたことを明らかにした（「遊女評判記の書き手と読み手―延宝期前後の吉原物を主として」『常民文化』42号）。この考察により、遊女評判記に記された一部の人々が客になることへの批判が、単に作者の個人的見解で済まされなかったという点を明確にした。③長崎奉行所判決記録『犯科帳』を分析し、長崎丸山遊廓で捕縛された「穢多」「非人」「無宿」について口頭発表を行った（「遊廓で捕縛された「穢多」「非人」「無宿」―『犯科帳』を主として」『史潮』新85号）。これは遊廓における客の忌避と法規の関係を解明することを目指したもので、同じく法規で禁止された客であっても、その扱いが異なることを明らかにした。以上および29年度の成果を踏まえ、2019年度中には博士論文を提出する予定である。

This study is an idealized study of the structure of the modern world, the guest, and the avoidance of a part of the people (the worker, the victim, etc.).
