项目摘要

前年度に引き続き、2018年度もフィリピン北部に分布するイロカノ語を対象とし、現地調査により収集した言語資料に基づき研究を進めた。同調査により、イロカノ語のオノマトペの形態、音韻、統語、意味を記述・分析した。イロカノ語の総合的な文法記述も並行して進め、それによりオノマトペが文法体系においてどの様に位置付けられるかを明らかにした。具体的なオノマトペの特徴として次の三点を発見した。まず、イロカノ語のオノマトペの形態統語および音韻は非オノマトペ語彙と異なる特徴を持つ一方で共通点も多く持つ。次に、イロカノ語のオノマトペは音、動作の様態、感覚といった意味領域に関して、具体性の高い情報を表現する。そして、イロカノ語のオノマトペの多くは、否定要素と共起できないという特性を持つ。特に二点目と三点目は、イロカノ語のオノマトペを特徴付ける上で重要な要素であることを明らかにした。2018年度の研究成果として、二編の論文を公刊した。具体的には、イロカノ語の名詞句の構造についての論文と時間表現に関する論文執筆を行った。加えて、国際シンポジウムや研究会において、イロカノ語のオノマトペについての口頭発表、動詞連続についての口頭発表、複動詞構文についての口頭発表、移動表現に関する口頭発表を行った。こうしたイロカノ語文法の総合的な記述により、研究課題であるオノマトペの特徴と特性をより広い視野から明らかにすることに成功した。また以上の成果をまとめ、博士論文として京都大学に提出した。
