昨年度の成果を踏まえ、(1)大坂両替商史料の調査・収集・分析、(2)年貢米関係史料の収集・分析、(3)・安政期国産品振興に関する史料の調査・収集・分析を中心的に行った。(1)では、大阪歴史博物館所蔵の平瀬家文書を調査し、鹿児島藩の天保七年藩債整理に関わる史料が含まれており、昨年度の成果を踏まえて分析を行った。これにより、薩摩藩の天保7年藩債整理の具体的な様相、およびそれに対する大坂銀主側の対応について理解を深めることができた。また昨年度に収集・分析した藩債整理関係史料との関連も明らかにできた。(2)では、鹿児島県歴史資料センター黎明館を調査地として、玉里島津家史料の閲覧・翻刻を行った。これにより、幕末期、家臣団の困窮に対して実施された救米給付の実態についての把握を行い、藩財政構造との関係について理解を深めた。(3)では薩摩藩の国産品政策に関わる史料について、昨年度収集した山元家文書（天ヶ城歴史民俗資料館蔵）の分析を行った。また、史料の調査・収集も継続し、東京大学史料編纂所・山口県立文書館の所蔵史料を中心に史料の閲覧・撮影を行った。安政期に行われた日州御手山仕法については、(1)の研究課題とも関わる問題であったため、特に集中的に史料の収集と分析に努めた。御手山経営の責任者である山元家の史料から、当該期における積極的な白炭生産が幕府の進める海防政策と関係していたこと、加えて薩摩藩が従来関係する大坂銀主との関係にも規定されて展開していたことなどを明らかにした。
