项目摘要

アカシア林業へのモノカルチャー化が急激に進行しているベトナム中部山岳地域の少数民族農村において現地調査を行い，ミクロな視点の地域情報を用いて各世帯における救荒植物（災害時や困窮時の食糧備蓄となる有用植物）の実態把握および栽培実態の分析を行った。対象地では特に，ホームガーデンを中心に救荒食となるような作物が備蓄されており，特に近年は世帯によって栽培作物の構成にも変化がみられることが明らかになった。聞き取り調査および現地踏査によって収集した，各ホームガーデンにおける救荒作物の種類と株数，栽培環境，入手方法，利用方法，栽培主の情報はとりまとめ，インベントリを作成した。このインベントリの情報を用いて傾向分析を行っており，中でも世帯のアカシア林業への依存度とホームガーデンにおける作物栽培の傾向を分析した結果は，各種研究会や学会にて報告している。また，栽培世帯の特徴を明らかにする研究として，森林資源の利用状況をまとめた成果は原著論文として発表した。現在は救荒作物が栽培されているホームガーデン/世帯の特徴を明らかにすべく分析を試みている。本研究では，救荒植物や作物を取り巻く環境を人間活動も含めて総合的に考慮し，生態条件と社会条件を合わせた学際的な視点から議論することが一つの課題であったが，作物の生態情報や生育状況の調査に加え，各世帯の現在営んでいる生業や過去に営んでいた生業，森林資源の利用状況，世帯間の関係性など，作物栽培の選択要因に間接的に影響を及ぼす情報に至るまで丁寧な聞き取り調査によって情報収集することに成功した。本研究で明らかになった「救荒植物を保持した土地利用」が成立するための人間活動も含めた環境条件をもとに，それらを住民が持続的に利用できる自然共生型土地利用モデルを構築・提案することが今後の課題である。
