[In this study, it systemically introduced a new synthetic procedures to synthesize a novel hydrophobic hard O and soft N donor combined ionic liquid ((IL-TPTNA)+NTf2-). (IL-TPTNA)+NTf2- had a TPEN analogue structure, it showed a good extraction performances of trivalent lanthanides in nitric acid solution. Then, various spectra studies revealed its stability constants and existence conditions in either aqueous or organic phase. Furthermore, based on the results of X-ray crystallography and EXAFS analyses, it found that lanthanide ions formed a 1:1 complex with (IL-TPTNA)+NTf2-. And both the hard O donor and soft N donor were involved in the formation of this complex, which is consistent with the objective of this research.]
