矢野橋村（1890-1995）は主に官展や日本南画院展の出品作を通じて、とりわけ昭和3年の帝展特選以降の作品により語られてきたが、それ以前の画業の研究も必要である。「矢野橋村の基礎研究－大正期の画業を中心に－」（『フィロカリア』第38号、2021年）では、明治末期から帝展特選までの作品を年代順に整理して、落款印章について考察、作品目録も作成した。まず落款に関して、号については、橋村子明は大正2年夏頃～6年頃、橋村亭長は大正13年6月頃～昭和21年頃、橋村小逋、橋村迂叟、大来山人は昭和期に使用した可能性が高いことを指摘し、「橋村」の筆跡により、Ⅰ期（～大正6年末頃）、Ⅱ期（大正7年春頃～11年春頃）、Ⅲ期（大正11年秋頃～）と大正時代を区分し、小さな変化でより細かくわけた。次に制作場所に関しては、本紙と箱に記された制作場所と出版物に載る住所とを併せて考察し、皆宜園時代（～大正4年8月初旬）、五相畫屋時代（大正4年8月初旬～11年1月頃）中河舟令時代（大正11年1月頃～昭和4年6月頃）の3期にわけた。さらに朱文方印「此画為大美校新築資作千之一」の使用は、大正13年6月から昭和4年6月までに限定されることにも言及した。これらの時代区分により、制作年代を推定して作品を画業に位置づけることが可能となり、先行研究や当時の出版物に載る図版、調査した作品の基本情報や、賛、款記、印文の翻刻を記載した作品目録は、現時点での大正時代の橋村作品の総目録となる。《降魔圖》（八木商店本店資料館蔵）の再調査では、赤外線撮影により画面中央上に墨線が書かれていると判明、また成分分析により、光背の暈しに金泥、背景に群青、牡丹の花に水銀朱、葉にはマラカイト、めしべの黄には染料、肉身部に黄土、その隈取りに鉛丹、目の虹彩に代赭、白目部分には鉛白を使用し、唇は水銀朱で薄く彩色したと判明し、科学的観点から研究を進めた。

Hashimura Kobui, Hashimura Yusuke, Dalishan Yusuke, Showa Period Possibility of Use, Hashimura's Handwriting, Phase I (~ the end of Taisho 6), Phase II (Spring of the 7th year of Taisho ~ Spring of the 11th year of Taisho), III period (Autumn of the 11th year of Taisho ~) and Taisho period are divided into small and small periods. Next, the production site, the production site, the publication site, the residence, the investigation, the Yoshien era (to the beginning of August of the 4th year of Taisho), the five-phase painting house era (to the beginning of August of the 4th year of Taisho to January of the 11th year), and the Zhonghe boat order era (January of the 11th year of Taisho to June of the 4th year of Showa).
