项目摘要

令和４年度はハワイ沖縄県人会（HUOA）がYouTubeで公開しているHUOA Yuntaku Live!を中心に沖縄ディアスポラの談話を分析した。毎回ゲストを招いて対話形式で進行するこのウェブキャスト番組は，これまでに68回を記録し，今後も継続が予定されている。本調査では，主に舞台芸術家をゲストとして招いた番組に焦点を当て，三線奏者や琉球舞踊演者がその唄や踊りに込めた思いを番組司会者と語る対話やグループ会話を分析した。登壇者の英語発話に現れる沖縄語の語彙や沖縄語，日本語，英語を含んだコード切替などをスピーチ・コード理論に基づいて分析した。その結果，沖縄ディアスポラの舞台芸術家は自らの内にある混成性（ハイブリディティ）と沖縄との歴史的連続性を重視し，演目に込められた，記憶の断片から想像した祖国の物語を聴衆と共有することを通して沖縄ディアスポラのコミュニティ形成に大きく寄与していることがわかった。舞台芸術に込められたこうした物語は，HUOA Yuntaku Live!に見られるような「ユンタク」（茶飲み話，雑談）という固有のコミュニケーション儀式を通して浸透し，ウェブ・プラットフォームを媒介として広く共有され、国境を越えて人と人を結ぶ役割を担っている。この越境型の共同体を創造する基盤をなすのが沖縄語語彙のメタ・コミュニケーション機能、そしてそれらを契機として創造される物語である。分析の結果明らかになったこうした点をまとめた論文を『欧米文化論集』に掲載した。
