本研究は、近年発展しつつある第二言語教師教育研究における教師認知研究の動向を踏まえ、 (1)小学校教員養成課程にある学生は、英語科の指導に関してどのような信念に基づいて授業計画を作成するのか、また、(2)その信念の形成に過去の学習者としての経験、教育実習、講義経験はどのような影響を与えている か、さらに、(3)講義や教育実習を通じて英語科の指導に関する信念がどのように変容するかを、質的研究方法により明らかにすることを目的とする。2022年度 においては、上記の目的に沿ったでータ収集が主な実績である。まず、(1)教育実習期間中、最初に担当した英語の授業および最後に担当した英語の授業の観察を行った。そして、各授業実施直後、どのような信念に基づいて授業計画を作成したか質問紙による調査を行った。また、教育実習終了後に、実習期間中の最初および最後に担当した英語の授業について、質問紙の回答に基づきながらインタビューを行った。より信頼できるデータを収集するために、インタビュー時には、学習指導案、観察時に記録したフィールドノーツなどを併用した。(2)教育実習後の講義において毎講義の終了時に振り返りシートの記入を行わせ、データとした。(3)講義期間終了後に授業計画作成課題を課し、どのような信念に基づいて作成したか、質問紙による調査およびインタビューを行う予定であったが、所事情により実施を断念せざるを得なかった。得られたデータを含む総合的な分析・検討はこれまでに収集したでータと合わせ2023年度に実施する予定である。
