项目摘要

本年度は，代表者と協力者（大学院生）1名とで，東京海洋大学「海鷹丸」の南大洋航海に3年ぶりに参加し，ナンキョクスカシイカの稚仔を数十個体，さらにその他数種の頭足類の稚仔を採集した．ナンキョクスカシイカと同科のダイオウホウズキカの稚仔も得られた．これらの試料は，一部については現場でDNAサンプルを採取し，種同定に供する．その他の試料については，現場で外套長を計測したのち，形態観察用にはホルマリン固定，胃内容物観察用にはエタノール固定した．すでに保管されていたナンキョクスカシイカ稚仔の標本について，形態観察を終え形態発育に関する論文を執筆中である．各部の相対成長を詳細に測定・観察したところ，本種は外套長20 mm付近で，発育の局面が変化することが明らかになった．さらに一部標本について顕微鏡観察とDNAメタバーコーディングによる食性の分析・解析を行った．顕微鏡観察での餌生物の同定は，多くが破砕されていたことから困難を極めたが，DNAメタバーコーディングによって多様な餌生物を一定程度同定できることが分かった．
