２０２２年度は、２回（８月・２月）のトリニダード・バルバドス・ジャマイカにおけるインタビューを中心としたフィールドワークと現地での研究発表を行う予定であった。しかし新型コロナウイルス感染症流行のため日本からの渡航が難しく、また現地の感染状況や医療体制についても事実に基づく正確な情報の入手が難しかったことから、渡航を断念したためフィールドワークは実施できなかった。一方ですでに収集していた現地調査データや資料に基づいて、視点を変えた分析を行い、現代バルバドスのヨーロッパ系市民の白人・白人性の構築過程の一端を明らかにすることができた。今年度明らかにした点の概要は以下のとおりである。（１）バルバドスでは英国植民地下の砂糖プランテーションにおいては労働内容の人種による分業が徹底していなかったため、アフリカ系奴隷とヨーロッパ系労働者の間では人種による分業の概念が育たなかった。同時に、年季奉公や強制労働を行う格安の労働力を提供したヨーロッパ系労働者は、商品として買われたアフリカ奴隷よりも過酷な労働を強いられていた。これらの点から以下の４点を明らかにした。①労働者階級に属すヨーロッパ系市民の存在と白人性、②アフリカ系とヨーロッパ系の混血に対して嫌悪感を示さない労働者階級に属すヨーロッパ系市民の存在の白人性、③アフリカ系市民の労働者階級に属すヨーロッパ系市民に対する嫌悪・侮蔑・差別的言動、④最上層と最下層の両極を占めるヨーロッパ系市民の社会階層と階層間の移動（２）植民地時代の奴隷所有や労働力搾取などに対する罪の意識の強要が白人認識に与える影響について整理した。（３）２０２１年１１月に共和制に移行したバルバドスの英国からの人種ナラティブ的・精神的・政治的な完全脱植民地化に向けた世論の変容について考察を深めた。

At the same time, the company is committed to the protection of the environment.
