项目摘要

本研究では長い時間をかけて人との関係性において造形されてきた知的財産とも言える地域に残された民具や社寺彫刻（宮彫）などの歴史的な人工物について，それらが制作された理由，目的，その社会的および文化的位置付けを解明することを目的としてきている。形態解析技術，３D関連技術，造形物を構成する材料，構造分析手法を活用し，造形形態そのものを科学的指標のもとで分析し，その人工物の形態的特徴を支配する造形特性を数理的に定義してきている。民具では箕，木摺臼，やり木（回転臼の操作具），踏み鋤，犂を中心にそれぞれの形態調査，使用経験者，研究者に対する聞き取り，実物からの材料サンプル採取と同定，３Dカメラ，非接触型三次元デジタイザによる形態測定と３DCAD・ CAE による形態・構造分析，そして３Dプリンタによる機能モデルの再現と機能検討を実施してきた。また，宮彫では，民具形態と同様に取得した３D データに対する幾何学的な評価を行い，これら彫刻の作者・作風の同定の可能性も探ってきている。これまでの調査・測定・分析を通して，民具と宮彫の両造形のいずれにおいても数理性をもった形態解釈の可能性を示唆してきている。ここまでに形態評価してきたすべての事例において共通していることは，それぞれの実形態を３Dモデルに置き換えとその作業過程を通して，それぞれの形態が示す本質的な特徴を，その形態と関りをもつ人との関係性において読み取ろうとしているところにある。具体的には，箕では，その弾性曲線が材料選択と人の身体の大きさと動きに関連して生まれること，木摺臼では，その上臼の大きさ，重量の情報も含めて考えると，摺り面の形態の違いが籾に対する働きかけへの差異を生むこと，そして宮彫では，それぞれの造形の立体表現における制作者の「癖」もしくは可視化される造形感覚から，作風の同定にも展開する可能性も見い出しつつある。

This study focuses on the relationship between people and time, the formation of knowledge, the property, the language, the region, the remains of people, the temple carving (palace carving), the history of artifacts, the reasons for production, the purpose, the social and cultural location, and the explanation of the purpose. The specific characteristics of the curve are related to the material selection, the movement of the human body, the weight information, the shape of the folding surface, the difference between the shape and the three-dimensional expression of the shape, the producer's "habit" and the visual perception of the shape.
