今年度は、自転車通行空間表示関するWebアンケートの結果を整理分析するとともに、遅れていたフィールド調査を一部の地域で実施した。本アンケートは、上位計画に自転車活用推進を挙げ、シェアサイクル運用や都市景観形成への配慮等を行っている市町村を対象とし57市２町から回答を得ることができた。結果としては予測していたよりも多様な整備が行われているとは言い難い状況を確認できた。政令市では、構造的な分離や、車道や歩道上での視覚的な分離、車道混在など各道路状況に応じた複数パターンの整備が行われ、小規模都市では車道混在のみの整備や車道混在と歩道上に視覚的な分離といった組合せの整備を行っているところが多数を占めていた。本研究では歩道上での視覚的な分離に有効な提案を行うことを目標としており、歩道上の視覚的な分離が比較的多くの市で実施され市区町村でも整備されている状況を確認できたが、その整備状況は国の定めたガイドラインの例示通りの整備であり、色彩や色彩の塗布方法の工夫を行っている個所は限定的であると言えた。また、少数ではあるものの独自のガイドラインを所持し表示等に工夫が行われている事例として仙台市および横浜市でのフィールド調査を行った。景観との兼合いやその箇所での交通の状況に合わせて色彩や色彩の塗布方法、色彩によらない区分など状況に応じた整備を確認することができた。そして利用者の通行の状況も確認し、目立つ表示にすることが利用者誘導に直結しているとも言い難く、表示を目立たせることで理解を促すことの限界を確認すると同時に、車道混在の整備がされていても歩道上を走行する自転車は一定程度あり、交通状況や自転車利用者本人の状況から、これらを０にすることは難しく歩道上での通行において歩行者に危険がおよばないような支援を歩道上に施すことの意義について改めて確認できた。
