项目摘要

本年度は『初刻五種伝奇』（以下『初刻』）の後に刊行された『三刻五種伝奇』（以下『三刻』）における短評を中心に研究を行った。成果として、論文「『三刻五種伝奇』における評語について－『好』を中心に－」としてまとめた。研究方法は、前年度と同様、各作品における短評を抽出し、分析を行った。『初刻』では最も多く使われているのは「妙」と関わりのある評語であるが、『三刻』ではそれが「好」と関わりのある評語に当たる。これらの評語は作品のどの部分に付されるのか、批評者のどのような考え・視点を反映しているのかを詳しく考察し、総評や圏点との関係を考慮しつつ、その特徴及び共通点の有無を検討した。また、各作品における「妙」と「画」に関わりのある評語の特徴や使用基準は『初刻』と相違点があるかどうかについても分析した。『三刻』で最も多く使われている「好」は、主役の恋愛感情や主役の家族間の愛情描写に比較的多く付されている一方、『浣紗記』『鳴鳳記』では、忠臣義士や奸臣の言動にも付される傾向がある。また、『初刻』における「妙」の傾向と同様に、『三刻』における「好」も、使用数が多い作品ほど様々な描写に付される傾向が強い。ほとんどが曲文に付されている「好」は、人物の感情をうまく描いていることを批評するために用いられることが多い。その一方、「妙」はその一部が「好」と同様に人物の感情をうまく描いていることを批評するために用いられているが、科白に付されることが「好」より多く、分かりやすい言葉で真に迫る内容を評価する傾向が見受けられる。「画」に関しては、脇役の小人物そのものに関する描写に多く付されている。これに対し、『初刻』における「画」は、脇役の描写ではなく男女の恋愛感情に関する描写に付されるものが大半であるため、同じ評語であっても、作品によってその着目点が異なる場合があるということが今回の考察を通して分かった。
