项目摘要

本研究は、従来の中国古代簡牘研究では客観的考察の対象とすることができなかった「筆跡」に対して、出土簡牘資料に遺された実際の筆跡を数値化する分析手法を導入し、文書・文字を媒介とした行政運用の仕組みについて、新たな角度から検証を加えるものである。具体的には、第１に、中国古代簡牘に遺された筆跡を客観的に分析する手法を考案し、数値的に示すこと。第２に、行政文書に遺された筆跡の平均値から、当時の標準的な筆跡の数値を算定すること、そして標準的な筆跡がどの程度普及していたかを数量的に評価することを目的とする。令和４年度は、A）筆跡の観察フォーマットを利用した筆跡データの作成と分析、B）複合文書における筆跡の個癖の抽出、C）文字データセットの作成、の３項目を遂行した。A）観察フォーマット：年度前半に、今後の研究の展開を視野に入れ、別の資料群でも共通した観察項目を援用できるように、とりわけ文書種別について改良を加えた。年度後半は、この新たな観察フォーマットを利用し、過年度作成の筆跡データの修正と新規データの作成を実施した。筆跡データは２か年合計で約1,800件となった。B）複合文書における筆跡の個癖の抽出：令和３年度に着手した、筆跡の個癖を客観的かつ二次的に利用・検証が可能な研究データとして数値化する手法の確立に向けて、まずは里耶秦簡の複合文書や復元冊書を集成し、データを作成した。A）B）項目の遂行過程で、一文字ごとに個別のIDを付与し文字画像を作成すれば、文字種ごとに文字画像と筆跡データとを容易に比較できると考え、新たに、C）文字データセットの作成に着手した。上記の新たな研究手法、とりわけB）筆跡の個癖の抽出、C）文字データセット作成、の着手により、本研究の目標を再設定し、新たな展開を踏まえた成果の発信が適切であると判断したため、研究期間の延長を申請し、承認された。
