2年目の計画は、前年の結果をもとに、聞き取り調査を開始することであった。2022年8月に、JAの真穴事業所長およびアルバイター事業のキーパーソンのひとりである農家の方に会い、近年の制度の変更について話を聞くことができた。2018年7月の「西日本豪雨」とコロナ禍を経て、アルバイター事業の制度面での変化があった。具体的には他地区における事業の導入や募集プロセスの変更である。またこのときに聞き取り調査の可能性について相談し、2022年シーズン収穫後に調査を実施させてもらうこととした。年明け後の2023年3月に聞き取り調査を開始した。調査者の業務都合のため日程確保が難しく、かろうじて2日間の調査を実施した。聞き取り対象者の選定には、前年度に実施したアンケート調査の結果から候補者リストを作成し、JA真穴事業所に仲介をお願いした。またこの時はJAにしうわ本店の担当者に会い、制度の変更について話を聞く機会を得た。2戸の農家にて聞き取り調査を実施した。話者は2軒とも戸主の男性で、地区で中心的な役割を担っている。アルバイター事業を通じた雇用の状況と事業以前の雇い入れを聞き取る本来の調査目的だけでなく、アルバイターの滞在する場所や、より幅広く地区における出荷の仕組みなども含め、ミカン作りについて広範な情報を得ることができた。2023年3月末、本研究の開始からこれまでの調査結果をまとめ、日本地理学会春季学術大会（東京都立大）にてポスター発表を行った。今後は聞き取り調査を本格的に進めていく予定である。2022年度の調査で得た調査結果を手掛かりに、地区における雇入れの経験を蓄積していきたいと考えている。
