项目摘要

本年度は、まず、アリストテレス『カテゴリー論』におけるウーシアーの優位性について研究発表を行い、論文として発表した。「何であるか」（本質）としてのウーシアーと述語づけの基体としてのウーシアーという二つの理解の緊張関係に注目してテクストを読解し、後者の理解が強調されていることを確認し、『カテゴリー論』に関してはさしあたり伝統的な「実体」という訳語が穏当であることを明らかにした。実体の優位性の意味について諸解釈を検討し、実体と非実体との非対称性に基づく存在論的優位性は認められるが、第一の実体と第二の実体に関しては非対称性に基づく存在論的優位性は認めがたいことを明らかにした。そして『形而上学』Ζ巻第4－6章などに見られる自体的な述語づけに注目し、「第一の実体」が種の名で捉えられることの意義について考察した。また、本年度は、「実体」を特徴づけるのに用いられる「或るこれ」という表現の意味について考察し、論文として発表した。「或るこれ」を「何であるか」という規定性の意味にとる解釈と、「これ」という指示の役割を強調する解釈を取り上げ、「或るこれ」としての実体が「数において一つのもの」として説明される『カテゴリー論』のテクストから、後者の解釈が捨てがたいことを確認した。そして数的一性について、『形而上学』Δ巻第6章における自体的一性に関するテクストを読解し、数的一性における質料の役割を明確にするとともに、形相の必要性も示されていることを確認し、数的一性の理解における質料形相論の意義を明らかにした。
