「アイヌ古式舞踊」などをはじめとするアイヌの芸能が文化財として指定される歴史的経緯を明らかにするため、早稲田大学演劇博物館に所蔵されている本田安次資料のうち、本田の調査ノート（手記）の調査を実施した。その結果本田は、調査初期から助力していた山本多助から特に多くの情報を得ており、文化財指定に向けた文化庁の最終調査では、山本の助言が保護団体候補へと直結している様子が明らかになった。文化財指定へのアイヌ民族自身の貢献を明らかにしていくことは、先住民族の視点から文化政策を検討するための重要な基礎資料となる。これら手記の分析は、今後論文として発表する予定である。この他、現代における表現活動の事例を調査として以下を視察した：『白老セッション』（ドローイングとムックリの即興演奏）、 『VOICE』（タップダンスとアイヌ伝統歌の共演）、『三石アイヌ音楽祭』、『ウタサ祭り』、『NOCIW CIP～ほしふね』、ウポポイによる特別公演『イノミ　アイヌの祈り・歌・踊り』、英国IKONギャラリーマユンキキ個展『Siknure: Let me live』（オンラインでの情報収集）。こうした現代的な表現活動は、先住民族政策やアイヌ文化支援の文脈ではこれまでほとんど語られてきていない。しかし、先住民族の文化財保護や文化活動支援を、文化政策の視点から包括的に検討する際、これらのような伝統的知識を活用した現代的表現・芸術活動はその対象として欠かせない。文化財／文化遺産に接続しながら、現代を生きる表現者として自らのルーツと向き合うアーティストたちの活動とその支援制度について、今後論文などで発表していく予定である。今年度の成果発表として、国際学会での研究発表を2件行った。また、文化財指定の経緯に関する論文を国立アイヌ民族博物館研究紀要で発表した。また『アートマネジメント研究』に寄稿した。
