令和４年度においては、ジェイムズ朝期における宗教・政治関係の研究書、および諷刺文化とジェイムズ朝悲劇を中心とする演劇興行に関する文献・資料を収集した。その上で、諷刺文化とジェイムズ朝悲劇との関係性解明のプロジェクトの第1弾として、17世紀初頭のイングランド史劇を対象に、諷刺文化とジェイムズ朝悲劇から補助線を引くことで検証を試み、その成果を研究会で発表した。（「17世紀初頭のイングランド史劇を再考するー初期ジャコビアン・トラジディと諷刺文化を補助線として－」、「エリザベス朝英国史劇における民衆のイングランド王国表象」第3回研究会、2022年8月10日、於秋田市にぎわい交流館AU。）今回分析の対象とした17世紀初頭のイングランド史劇、王朝交替期の諷刺文化、そして初期のジャコビアン・トラジディの３者は、ほぼ同時期の現象であり、17世紀初頭のイングランド史劇が、特定の偏向した歴史観・歴史記述を採用していることの理由を、諷刺文化と初期のジャコビアン・トラジディに現れる政治・宗教表象の視点から解明を試みたものである。具体的には、初期のジャコビアン・トラジディとして、Thomas MiddletonのThe Revenger's TragedyとBeaumont & FletcherのThe Maid's Tragedyの２作品を分析対象として取り上げ、前者の悲劇においては、同時代への言及ー火薬陰謀事件や第１次エンクロージャーーが顕著に観察される一方、後者の悲劇にあっては、国王の生命や大権と個人を中心とする価値観がせめぎ合う構造ゆえ、作品のイデオロギーが見えづらい状況を指摘した。結論として、17世紀初頭のイングランド史劇の画一的歴史観とは異なる価値体系が、演劇に持ち込まれていることを検証した。
