本研究は、1952年出版とされる寿岳文章によって創られた私家本、『ハロルド・フレデリック・ウッズウォース博士追憶集』（In Memoriam Harold Frederick Woodsworth D.D.）に関わる散逸した記録と薄れゆく記憶を辿り、留めることを主目的としている。そのため、2022年度は、まず、同書に関する一次資料や情報を蒐集することに注力した。具体的には、限定350部で制作された『追憶集』を所蔵している国内外の大学図書館へ問い合わせを行い、可能な限り実際に閲覧して限定番号等の付属情報を確認した。また、日本国内や海外の古書店から関連書籍を入手し、有益な情報を得ることに努め、『追憶集』の装幀（葛布の表紙やシルエット等）に関する文献研究も行った。さらに、未だ充分な研究がなされていない『追憶集』刊行についての事実関係を把握するため、ウッズウォース博士の遺族をはじめ、関係者への聞き取り調査を継続的に実施した。同時に、「向日庵資料」として向日市文化資料館にて保存されている寿岳文章の日記や寿岳宛ての書簡、および、遺族から提供された寿岳よりの書簡データを検証することによって、第二次世界大戦によって出版を阻まれた当時の状況、そして、1０年という年月を経て戦後再始動した『追憶集』刊行の制作スケジュールを考察することができた。何より、『追憶集』の実際の刊行年（1953年）を確認できたことは意義深いものであったと考えている。これらの研究成果は、研究ノート（「書物をめぐる記録を辿る―『ハロルド・フレデリック・ウッズウォース博士追憶集』」としてまとめ、公刊した。加えて、上記の情報蒐集や調査、および一次資料の検証に基づき、『追憶集』の翻訳作業を進めていったが、『追憶集』のテクストを精緻に読むことにより、次年度に向けて、新たな研究課題や調査すべき対象等を明確にすることができた。
