当該年度に実施した研究の成果は、第二言語(L2)の習得に関わるモチベーションの持続構造の理解に向けて、先行研究のレビューと、データの分析過程及び結果の考察を一部、公表できたことであった。先行研究のレビューに関して、研究代表者は、英語学習を促進する「ビジョン」と「モチベーションの持続」に関わる理論の抽出を目指した。その結果、「New big five model」（McAdams & Pals, 2006）や「A framework for long-term motivation」 (Dornyei & Henry 2022) の有用性が浮上した。研究代表者は、これらの理論をもとに、日本人英語学習者の持続可能なモチベーションを解釈し、論文としてまとめた。その論文は、『国際地域研究Ⅴ』のブックチャプターとして掲載が確定した。上記と同時に、研究代表者は（研究協力者とともに）、ビジョンと、New big five modelの要素及び「ロールモデル」の関係性についての実証に努めた。その結果、前者の関係性に関して、量的研究から、実直性や理想自己から英語学習を継続できる力への影響力が確認できた。また、質的研究を通じて課題解決への自信をもたらす経験要因が浮上した。後者の関係性に関しては、量的研究から、日本人英語学習者のロールモデルの特徴と、ロールモデルから英語学習におけるエンゲージメント経験への直接の影響力が確認できた。以上の研究過程について、研究代表者は（研究協力者とともに）国際会議「The 20th AsiaTEFL, 68th TEFLIN, 5th iNELTAL Hybrid International Conference」で口頭発表した。また、この口頭発表を修正・加筆し、論文としてまとめた原稿は、同国際会議プロシーディングスへの掲載が確定し、公表できた。
