本報告書は、Society 5.0時代に対応する英語教育実習制度開発を目指す3年間の研究計画初年度を報告する。オンラインを活用した海外小学校との英語教育実習で実践的指導力を育成し、児童・生徒英語学習者の資質・能力向上に貢献することが期待されている。初年度は事前準備と次年度への橋渡しを行った。初年度では、台湾での実習事前準備に焦点を当て、実習計画策定と役割分担決定を行った。先行研究の再調査・分析で関連知見を研究計画に反映させ、本課題研究に関する予備研究調査への対応を中心として国内で国際会議を含め3回の学会発表を通じて成果・課題の議論を深めた。学会発表は他研究者や教育関係者との交流促進や研究の質の向上につながり、フィードバック等が研究計画改善や実習プログラム充実の資源となった。また、本研究では、次年度海外実習事前調査として国内公立小学校6年生を対象にオンライン英語教育実習を実施し、実証と有効性検証に向けた活動を継続している。オンライン実習で地域や時間制約を克服し、ICTを活用した指導実践を体験した。国内実習は、指導者の実践的指導力育成機会を提供し、オンライン教育実習課題の把握と克服について議論を深めた。児童にもICT活用した異なる学習環境への理解を深める機会が創出された。一方、台湾の研究協力者や教育機関と調整および実習連携体制や実習プログラム基盤を整備し、次年度以降の実習活動に向けて準備が整った。初年度の成果をもとに、次年度以降は台湾の教育機関と連携し、オンライン教育実習の実施や実践的指導力育成効果検証に焦点を当てた取り組みを進める。今後、オンライン英語教育実習を実施し、効果検証を行いながら研究成果を拡大・深化させ、児童・生徒英語学習者の資質・能力向上に寄与する外国語（英語）指導者養成に取り組む予定である。
