本年度は、実験刺激の構築を中心に作業を進めた。本調査では英語の冠詞を刺激として使用し、英語学習者と英語母語話者のパフォーマンスを比較することで冠詞処理に関わる神経基盤を明らかにする実験を行う。そのため、英語の冠詞の専門家を招集した会議を設け実験刺激の選定を行う作業に時間を費やした。数ある冠詞の中から日本人英語学習者が習得に困難をきたすと思われる種類を選抜した。次の作業ではこれらの刺激が母語話者が違和感を覚えるものでないか確認する。これらの作業と並行して、刺激を提示するプログラムの作成も行なった。第一段階で心理実験を行い、その結果をもとにfMRIを用いた脳画像撮像を行うため、両実験に同じ条件で使用できるプログラムの開発を進めた。
