本研究の目的は，日本のガソリン市場で価格へ影響を与えうる特徴的な要因と思われる(1) 上流市場におけるコストショックのパススルー，(2) 合併の効果，の2点について，日本のガソリン市場関連データを収集・整理した上でミクロ計量分析の手法を用いて実証的に分析することである．今年度は，(1) 上流市場におけるコストショックのパススルーに焦点をあてて研究を行った．具体的には2022年より発動された燃料油価格激変緩和措置に着目した．これはガソリン元売に補助金を与える政策であり，ガソリン元売に対して限界費用低下をもたらすことになる．そこで，このガソリン補助金が小売価格へどのような影響を与えたのかを実証的に分析することとし，関連するデータを収集・整理した．その上で寡占市場のモデルを構築し，モデルを推定した．その結果，上流市場におけるコストショックのパススルーは不完全であり，補助金額ほどは小売価格が減少しないことがわかった．また，推定されたパラメータをもとに補助金政策による余剰変化も計算したところ，1兆円以上社会的余剰が減少したことがわかった．これらの研究結果を論文として現在，執筆している段階である．また，これと並行し，(2) 合併の効果についても分析を行うためにデータの収集を開始した．
