项目摘要

本研究の目的は、投資家の期待を計測した上で、その期待がどのように形成されるのか、そして、形成された期待が金融市場にどのような影響を与えるのかを明らかにすることである。本年度は、空売り制約の下で投資家の異質的期待が資産価格に与える影響を分析した論文に対する、投稿先ジャーナルからの大幅改訂要求に優先的に対応し、無事に掲載が決まった。この論文では、新規株式公開（IPO）に着目して、投資家の異質的期待と空売り制約を仮定する理論の検証を行った。この理論に基づけば、空売り制約が存在する場合、投資家の期待がばらつくほど、楽観的な投資家の意見のみが価格に反映されるためにIPO直後の株価が過大評価されると予測される。さらに、その後の投資家の学習によって期待が修正され、IPO後の株式収益率が低くなると予測される。これらの予測を検証するために、日本の入札方式によるIPOに焦点を当て、各IPOに対する投資家の期待が正規分布に従っていると仮定して、入札情報からその平均値と標準偏差を推計した。そして、推定された平均値を投資家の楽観度の平均的水準、標準偏差を投資家の期待のばらつきの代理変数として分析を行った。その結果、IPO直後の株価の過大評価に対しては、投資家の楽観度の平均的水準と期待のばらつきの両方が説明力を持つものの、IPO後の株式収益率に対しては、楽観度の平均的水準のみが説明力を持つことが明らかになった。このことは、投資家の期待の収束よりも、楽観度の平均的水準の修正がIPO後の株式収益率の低下を引き起すことを示唆している。
