项目摘要

本研究はグロバールバリューチェーン研究の中でも、サプライヤーであるEMS企業（受託製造企業）の成長過程の解明に焦点を当て、台湾EMS企業の2社（現EMS業界における1位と2位）を研究の対象とする。台湾EMS企業の成長過程を明らかにするために、台湾EMS企業に対する丁寧、正確かつ充実したデータを収集して分析する。そのために、これまで取り組んできたペンローズの企業成長論と資源・能力アプローチに関する研究で得られた成果と既存研究に新たな概念を加えて本研究の分析フレームワークを構築し、台湾EMS企業の成長過程、とりわけ、ブランド企業とEMS企業間の権力の非対称性の構図のなか、EMS企業がブランド企業との取引関係からどう情報を吸収し、能力構築したかについて調査を行う。データベースのデータを用いた資料収集と聞き取り調査の情報を用いた定性的な研究からアプローチをすることにより、ブランド企業の下請けという立場にある台湾EMS企業の成長の違いを決める要因を理論的、かつ実証的に解明をしていくことを目的としている。その上で、研究期間の初年度である令和4年度には、これまで取り組んできたペンローズの企業成長論と資源・能力アプローチに関する研究をより精緻化するためにレビュー研究を行った。また、研究対象の鴻海社とペガトロン社の資料収集について、主にデータベース利用、台湾の経済新聞および、商業雑誌に掲載された2社の記事と資料収集を通じて、2社の情報を入手した。当該年度は理論構築を目標とした概念に関する論文を執筆し、既存研究との融合を目指していたが、概念に関する投稿論文を執筆しているところになる。次年度以降は、現地調査を行い、台湾EMS企業の成長の違いを決める要因をブランド企業との取引関係の要因から詳細に検討し、台湾EMS企業の成長過程に関する最新研究を提示することを目的とする。
