本研究は、地域の中小企業、とりわけ同族企業の戦略的な意思決定に影響を及ぼす要因について明らかにすることを目的としている。ここでいう戦略的な意思決定とは、事業転換や新事業の創造のような大きな投資を伴うものや実現までに時間を有するような意思決定のことである。このような意思決定に影響を及ぼす要因として、本研究では事業承継（後継者の不在などを含む）や地域とのかかわりに注目している。初年度である2022年度は、研究目的に則して、当初の予定を一部変更して、北九州エリアの中小企業を対象としたインタビュー調査を中心に実施した。とりわけ、後継者候補として新事業創造に取り組んでいる企業に注目し、その背景等について分析を行った。また、経営者だけでなく、当該企業に所属する従業員へのインタビューを実施したことで、同族企業あるいはファミリーについて多面的にとらえることができ、新たな知見が得られた。この点は次年度以降に活かしたいと考えている。しかしながら、本年度は具体的な研究業績を得てはいない。次年度は、研究時間を捻出し、多くの研究成果に結びつくように努めたい。
