项目摘要

初年度の研究計画における、成熟から衰退に向かっていた日本の家電扇風機市場において、脱成熟化と新たなトレンドを生み出すことに成功した高級扇風機の新製品開発における4種の事例データを用いた詳細なプロセス分析については、おおむね順調に進行することができた。また、研究課題であるデザイン・ドリブン・イノベーション手法におけるプロセスの精緻化を目指す上で、プロセス起点となりうる「新しい意味の創造者」の観点で、先行研究のレビューと整理をおこなった。初年度は、前述した4種の事例分析のうち、日本の大手電機企業における対照的な2種の事例研究について、米国での国際会議において報告（口頭発表）を行い、プロシーディングズとしてまとめることができた。加えて、国際学会発表を行った、前記対照的な2種の事例において、アウトカムやその後の波及効果に違いが生じるメカニズムを検討する上で、イノベーション・ダイヤグラム（山口栄一, 2014など）の分析フレームが活用できる可能性を国内学会にて発表した。これらの成果は、先行研究ではほとんど明らかにされていない、開発技術者起点のデザイン・ドリブン・イノベーションにおけるアウトカムの実態について、明らかにするとともに、工業デザイナー起点と開発技術者起点とにおいて、デザイン・ドリブン・イノベーションのアウトカム、および波及効果が異なるメカニズムについて、新知見を見出す糸口となる研究成果を蓄積できた。
