東洋経済海外進出企業データWeb版の2009年から2022年までのデータより全世界の日系企業子会社11,223社の収支（順調、収支均衡、欠損）を従属変数として、子会社の資本金、売上高、従業員数、日本からの派遣社員数、子会社への出資元企業からの出資比率を独立変数とする多項ロジスティック回帰分析をした、これにより、売上高、従業員数、派遣社員数、出資比率は収益性に正の効果があることが指摘できた。日系企業のアメリカへの進出状況における同時期の1,040社のデータによる分析では、出資比率のみが正の統計的に有意な効果をもたらしていることも分析できたが、他の変数では有意な結果は得られなかった。ニュージランドへの同様の分析では５変数とも有意な結果は得られていない。国別の分析では、従属変数である収支のデータが収録されていない標本が多くなり、分析結果に相違があることも指摘できた。
