「想定される用具の仕様の明確化と工作法のリストアップ」を当初計画より抜本的に広汎な製作事業者への調査をともなう形で実施することとし、初年度である令和4年度は、当該調査の実施に向け、判定の現場に関わる身体障害者更生相談所ならびに製作事業者の業界団体などの有識者より聞き取り調査等情報収集を行い、仮の調査票案を作成した。調査の目的は、現行制度で価格に算入される工程等を想定したものである「基本工作法」に対し、いまどのような工作法が用いられているか、実際に作られているものの仕様がどの程度現行の補装具費支給制度における基準と合致しているのかあるいは合致していないのかを把握することである。調査内容については、おおまかな工作法の種別と作られる座位保持装置の仕様に着目し、それぞれについての事業所での対応の可否、製作件数、その工作法・仕様の選択決定に強く影響したと思われる要因を問うこととした。工作法の別については現行制度で想定されている従来技術による採型・採寸のほか、デジタルな3D技術によるものを調査では想定した。また、仕様に関しては支持部・構造フレームに着目した選択肢をリストアップした。情報収集等により得られた主要な知見は、以下のとおりである。　●「基本工作法」のなかで採型による支持面製作過程で想定されている「陽性モデルの製作」が、必ずしもおこなわれていないことがわかった。　●工作法の選択には仕様の選択も大きく関わる。仕様の影響を考えるうえで研究計画書には構造フレームの別を想定して計画を記載していた。しかし、実際には構造フレームのみならず支持部の選択もまた大きな要因と考えられること。　●製作事業者によって、対応できる構造フレームや医療機関との関わりなどに大きく差異があること。　●障害児と成人とで、構造フレームの選択など仕様が変わる傾向があること。
